Non-directive pregnancy support counselling

Amparo Psychology provides Medicare rebated non-directive pregnancy support counselling for women who are currently pregnant or have been pregnant within the past 12 months.  Pregnancy support counselling is covered under Medicare item 81000 (Medicare rebate of $64.10) and assists women who may have concerns such as decisions about the future, adjustment following a pregnancy, or general issues related to a pregnancy.

Information for GPs

Patients can be referred under the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health Scheme. This enables them to access up to 10 sessions with a Medicare rebate provided if they have a referral to a psychologist under a GP Mental Health Care Plan (item 2710).

Referrals can be sent securely via Medical Objects.
